Serving our community since 2007, Elias Dental wants patients of all ages to feel confident and informed about every treatment they receive, from teeth cleanings to dental implants. The dentists at our Whitehorse office will always make your comfort and well-being the focus of each visit. Let us introduce Dr. Joel Odulio.
Dr. Joel Odulio
Dr. Joel Odulio was raised in Vancouver, BC along with two other siblings: Dr. Jerry Odulio, also a dentist, practicing in San Francisco; and Dr. Marijo Odulio, a physician of obstetrics and gynecology, practicing in Prince George, BC.
Dr. Odulio graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. After working as an associate for 3 years, he pursued his dreams and opened his own dental clinic, Elias Dental in Horwoods Mall in 2007. It has been 11 amazing years providing dental services to the people of Whitehorse, Yukon! On June 14, 2018 we moved to our new building at 4078 4th Avenue, with Elias Dental occupying the entire second floor.
Dr. Odulio has been blessed with an amazing marriage to his wife Liza and they have 5 children, 4 girls and a boy. He enjoys tennis, team sports and working out at the gym, but his favourite activity is basketball. He loves the outdoors and hopefully will someday try hunting. Any offers on bringing him out and teaching him some Yukon hunting skills?
Dr. Steve Yoonhwan Ra
Dr. Steve Ra is a new associate at Elias Dental Clinic. He decided to move to Whitehorse as he loves peaceful winters and wants to provide quality dental service where it’s needed. He looks forward for the opportunity to contribute to the Whitehorse community.
He was born in South Korea where he lived until middle school. For high school, he went to study abroad in New York, US for 2 years and then to Toronto, Canada for the rest of high school and undergraduate degree. He loves experiencing new places so he went to Melbourne, Australia for dental school. His experience of living and studying in different environments has shaped his personality to be friendly, adaptive, and positive.
Passion for Dentistry
Coming from a family of doctors, he always admired jobs that provided medical help to others and supported their well-being. He also enjoyed activities that required manual dexterity such as assembling Lego blocks and fixing electronics so he was naturally drawn into the world of dentistry as it involves both aspects. Making a positive impact on others' health and aesthetics is what he loves the most about dentistry.
He enjoys both active outdoor activities such as traveling, exercising, and driving as well as quiet indoor hobbies like cooking and watching movies.
Fun fact: He has been cutting his own hair for 10+ years!
